FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010

South Africa is the country responsible for organizing the 2010 World Cup soccer, becoming the first World Cup on African soil in place. This news has been welcomed by South Africa with great joy and jubilation, both by their representatives (former President Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and President Thabo Mbeki, among others).

As throughout the South African people in general, as it is expected that, with ticket sales and the arrival of soccer fans, it generates revenues to help this country to increase its potential, both as a tourist destination, as investments.

The opening match of the 2010 World Cup was the 11th of June at 16:00 hours and faced the host South Africa to Mexico. The game was played in Johannesburg, one of the main venues for South Africa 2010 and will host many of the major parties that take place throughout the competition.

The draw for the Football World Cup 2010 South Africa left eight groups quite similar, where we find one or two strong teams in each of them. 2010 World Cup groups are:

GROUP A: South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay and France.

GROUP H: Spain, Switzerland, Honduras and Chile.

As we can see, the host South Africa has not had much luck in the draw and has fallen squarely into one of the tightest groups in which France, which got its place in the last minute "due to the hand of Henry," it seems the clear favorite Mexico and Uruguay, where the home will fight for that second place, which leads to the second round.

If we have to highlight a group like the harder we would say that Group H is the Group of Death with Brazil, Portugal and Ivory Coast.

A priori, Brazil, Argentina and Spain are the favorites according to the bookmakers. Of course, we should not forget teams like England, Germany or Italy.

However, Brazil and Spain are already looking askance, as luck would have it both groups forming the intersection of Eighth, at the top of Group G will face second in Group H and vice versa. Chances are that this is the second-round match.
